Golden Night Dinner and Polytune
21 Oct 2016

As per the tradition in Rkc, the night before the day the Diwali vacation starts, the Golden Night Dinner is organized in the famous Dhrangadara Hall (The Mess). The Senior students under the able guidance of their Senior House Master, organizes this event. They spent the entire afternoon decorating the dinning hall with balloons, paper lanterns and decorative items. All the students, boys and girls, along with the staff members dine together to mark the beginning of the much awaited and the desired vacation after a comparatively long term. The Principal cuts the ribbon at the main door and then amidst thunderous applause from the students, the Staff Members are invited inside the Hall. It is a way of saying Thank You to their teachers for being with them throughout.

It was very well organized by the Head Boy (Adam Sumbhania) and the Deputy Head Boy (Darshit Barad) along with their team! The Principal was escorted by the Head Boy and Krupaba Jhala (Sr Prefect – Girls). Hats off and congratulations to our students for such a lovely evening!!

After dinner, the Rkc community was treated to a wonderful musical nite in the Quadrangle by the Polytune Orchestra Group of our Old Boy, Mr Chandreshbhai  Kotecha of Jamnagar. It is a tradition that Mr Kotecha has been maintaining since years. Thank you, Sir! His emotional attachment with his Alma Matar is absolutely fathomless.

The melodious singers enthralled us with their thumping numbers. The male singer started with the song of the legendary Md Rafi and followed it up with the popular and humming numbers of Arijit Singh, not to forget the medley of “mai tannu samjhawa, tery meri kahani”, etc. The female singer started with the evergreen number – “Babuji dheere chalna” to “Rangde tu mohe gerua”. The icing on the cake was provided by their Anchorman – Bipin Bhai – who enacted the role of Raj Kapoor on the evergreen songs of the famous hit “Mera Naam Joker.”

It was a wonderful evening for the Rkc fraternity and everybody had a wonderful time. The curtains were drawn with the thank you speech from the Principal.
