The Investiture Ceremony

In its 149th year of establishment, The Rajkumar College,Rajkot, initiates yet another session of leadership, conduct and character- building, progressively striving towards perfection.

The Investiture Ceremony for the appointment of the Prefectorial and the Monitorial Teams is a red- letter day in the life of every RkCian.The selected ones become the members of the elite team that maintains discipline and decorum in the school for the Principal and the staff.

The glorious and eventful day chosen is the 10th of August 2019, from 06:00pm to 07:30pm, when the proud students receive their badges of responsibility in the form of the famous brightly hued epaulettes at no lesser a venue than the historic Bhavsinhji Hall.

To add grandeur and grace to this ceremonial occasion, the Chief Guest is an equally dynamic, eminent & legendary educationist Dr. Sumer Bahadur Singh, Honorary Member IPSC, Ex-Principal & Director of The Daly College, Indore.

In view of the paucity of space and the great number of keen well wishers, parents, Old Girls & Old Boys etc, we will stream live the whole programme on Youtube. The link for the same will be communicated through various digital modes.

The Interact Club Installation Ceremony

Firmly believing in putting service above self, we proudly organised the Installation ceremony of the Rotary Club District 3060 for the Interact Club of The Rajkumar College, Rajkot for the year 2019-20. The event was held at the magnificent Bhavsinhji Hall on 19th July 2019 to implant the qualities like compassion and leadership among the students. The young and aspiring helpers of the society took oath with an aim to give back to the society under the guidance of their idols, respected Principal Mr Shankar Singh Adhikari and the supportive members of the staff of the College.

The enthusiastic Interactors were also inspired by the outgoing President and Secretary by their motivational speeches and moreover by the impressive work done at the Khakhana village by the previous team in the year 2018-19. Outgoing President Sahil Lakhani and Secretary Nazafreen Palia handed over their responsibility to the newly elected President Pratham Simaria and Secretary Prachi Bhayani.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Rotarian Assistant Governor Jaimini Thakar, President of Rotary Club of Rajkot, Rotarian Dr Kalpit Sanghvi and Joint Secretary, Rotarian Nishat Vora. The proud members of the staff, parents and students of the College witnessed the graceful event Mr. Jaimini Thakkar boosted up the confidence of the new team by his speech. Principal Mr. Adhikari encouraged them to take this work to new heights. He assured the young members of the team by offering them the help of his army, the students of the College, in case of need.
We are blessed indeed to have such supportive heads and are extremely grateful to the management for taking all the pain for instilling such values of love and compassion among the young citizens of the country thus serving the nation in return.

NDRF disaster management programme

An Awareness programme on disaster management was conducted by 6 battalion NDRF Gandhinagar on 24th July (Wednesday) at 3:30 pm near RKC Girls’ Assembly Area. The event took place in the presence of our guest of honour DPO Mr Priyank Singh, our Principal Mr.Shankar Singh Adhikari, Vice Principal Mr Abhijit Das, Burser Mr. Chako, Inspector Mr. Buddha Ram Dewasi, members of 6 battalion NDRF Gandhinagar, Members of staff, NCC cadets, interact team and students.

The programme started with the motivating speech by chief guest. There were various demonstrations given by the NDRF team. They did the rescue operations where the NCC cadets and interact team of RKC was involved. The students conducted different acts of rescuing people stuck in a building with fire. Taking them out in stretchers and giving them treatment. Even a demo on rescue from the terrace with the help of rope was shown and students’ participation in it was appreciated by the school. A demonstration on extinguishing fire was also done where there was involvement of students from different age group. It was an informative demonstration on rescue management and a great learning for all the students. A token of memory was given to the chief guest and the NDRF team. At the end of the programme group photographs of different groups were taken.

XIIIth All India IPSC Shooting Championship for Girls

The Rajkumar College , Rajkot, (the first public school of the country) ,is again hosting another prestigious IPSC championship in its glamorous campus .We are organising for the second consecutive year the shooting championship. Last year ,it was for the Boys , and now, the Championship for the Girls under various categories ( U-14, U-17 and U-19), to be held from 17Tth June to 19th June,2019.

Under the tenure of our Principal, Mr Shankar Singh Adhikari, RKC has been blessed with a new state of the art, and a fully air conditioned shooting range. A total of 9 prestigious schools of our country are taking part in the three day mega event. The participating schools are – Yadvindra Public School , Patiala, The Daly College ,Indore, Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, Lawrence School, Sanawar, Emerald Heights International School, Indore, Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls’ Public School, Jodhpur, Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School, Jaipur, Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai ,Haryana and the host school – The Rajkumar College, Rajkot. Altogether 119 shooters in the various categories will be taking part in the Air Rifle and Pistol Shooting Championship .The teams are accompanied by 15 coaches and staff members.

When a shooting championship is on who else could have been a better Chief Guest than a war veteran of the Indian Army Brigadier Sanjiv Dutt , Group Commander at NCC Group Headquarters , Rajkot. Recipient of the Sena medal, he was commissioned in JAKLI( Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry) in the Indian Army in 1985.

The support of the management, led by the Principal, Shri Shankar Singh Adhikari, has been immeasurable and has ensured that no stone was left unturned in making this event a memorable one!!

A doorway to nostalgia, reminiscing memorable experiences and sharing stories of your naughty childhood, most specially to renew your ties with your old buddies, The Rajkumar College, Rajkot is once again celebrating the Old RkCians Day on Sunday, 27th January, 2019 from 9:00 hrs to 13:30 hrs. The schedule for the day shall be as follows:
09:00 – 10:30 hrs  –  Arrival & Registration of Old Boys
                                    Breakfast in the Dhrangadhra Hall
10:00 – 13:00 hrs  –  Campus tour, Games and Sports
13:00 – 13:30 hrs  –  Lunch in the Dhrangadhra Hall

SSDM CLUB

On the 26th of December, A group of Interactors along with the Principal, Bursar, teachers and members from Rotary went to the Khakhana village. Main purpose behind the visit was to distribute school bags to the village school students.
These bags were light weight and having a foldable table inside the bag. Table can be used for keeping books and required things in the school, Interactors distributed 53 school bags to the school children.
Then Interactors spent some time playing with the children. The members left a smile on the faces of the children. All the members seemed to have enjoyed themselves thoroughly along with the students of the school.

 

SSDM CLUB

Nobody in this world is disabled, God made them “differently able”. Each and every one of us posses some potential within, which we can serve mankind.
On 4th Dec 2018, 9 students from Rajkumar College, Rajkot started their journey towards the Mayo College Ajmer with all  enthusiasm for the IPSC Service Project from 5th to 9th Dec 2018.
On the very next all the schools were gathered for an ice breaking session and at night for Director’s dinner. Our students interacted, with other 6 schools. A warm welcome was arranged by the Minu Manovikas School Ajmer, where they were suppose to work. In those consecutive three days of service project they build up the Sensory Park, Painted the school walls, Play ground and Basketball court.
Hosting school, Mayo College took care of all the students in every possible way they could. At last the journey ended on 10th Dec with Serving, Staying and Sharing happiness. Serving others, changes the mind and makes the real life achievers.
Last but not least thanks to Principal and SSDM Club for giving an opportunity and Keyuri Ma’am for escorting the school team.
