| 8th Edition of The Battle Of The Minds Rotary Quiz Competition
On 22nd January, 2023, two teams from the Interact Club, RKC participated in the Battle of the Minds General Knowledge Quiz organized by the Rotary Club of Rajkot. Both teams consisted of 3 Interactors each, Team 1 comprising of Om Satani, Hetvi Mehta and Aditya Buddha. Team 2 comprised Resham Vadesa, Aadyasha Swar and Twisha Parekh. A total of 34 teams participated in the quiz. The quiz had 3 main rounds, the written round, the wild card semi finals and the Grand Finals. The written round had 20 questions, after attempting which 4 top teams would be selected for the Grand Final. Om Satani, Hetvi Mehta and Aditya Buddha of Team 1 qualified for the Grand Final after the first written round. The semi finals was a buzzer round involving 6 teams, 2 of which would qualify for the finals. The teams were also able to answer the questions asked to the audience by the quizmaster during the semi finals. The finals had 5 rounds, 2 of direct questions and 3 were buzzer rounds. Team 1 was in the lead in the first 3 rounds. At the end of the 4th round, Team 1 tied with another participant team at 65 points. In the 5th round, Team 1 was once again in the lead with 80 points. Team 1 took a risk in the last question and unfortunately got a wrong answer with a minus 10 points. Team 1 thus stood second with 70 points, and all three participants bagged silver medals along with cash prizes and certificates. It was an enriching and fun experience. All the participants enjoyed indulging in the quiz and were glad to receive the knowledge. The Rotary Club organized the event very well as it has always done. The entire event was very informative and educative. |
