Senior School English Debate 2023/24 was conducted on the pattern of Oxford format on Friday, 21st July 2023 in Bhavsinhji Hall.
Eight debaters debated on the topic ‘Real crisis in the world is that of character’ in the event. A pair of debaters each from Gohilwar, Halar, Jhalawar and Sorath represented their Houses respectively; one proposed the motion while the other opposed it. A panel of three judges witnessed the event and marked the participants. Prof. Sanjay Shankar Mukherjee from Saurashtra University, Dr. Sushmita Ganguly from Christ College, Rajkot and Mr. Ambikapratapsinh Jadeja, Deputy Bursar, RKC Rajkot comprised the jury.
Students of Form 11 and 12 and senior teachers and Academic Coordinators were part of the audience along with Principal Mr. Yash Saxena. Megh Joshi of Form 11, Vineet Patel of Form 11 and Aditya Budhha of Form 12 were the winners where Megh bagged the first position followed by the other two.
While Sorath House secured the first position, second position was bagged by Jhalawar. Halar House is third in the rank followed by Gohilwar.
The entire programme was compered by two deft students of Form 11- Dev Popat and Shirlyn Francis.
