Whispers of Winter: A Morning Symphony with Nature

On the crisp morning of December 8, 2024, the Myra Club  embarked on an enchanting nature walk, transforming an ordinary day into an extraordinary adventure. At 6:30 AM, 28 students and 3 teachers set off to explore the spectacular beauty of Bhichari Hills located near Rajkot. As golden sunrise rays painted the sky in vivid hues of orange and pink, migratory birds commanded the scene. The morning was alive with exploration and featured a delightful array of winter delectable treats- crunchy Chiki, spicy Kachori, crisp Khakhra, and refreshing orange juice—enhancing the experience significantly.

The group returned at 9:15 AM, brimming with excitement and satisfaction, having created invaluable experience and memories from this exceptional nature walk

 

 

 

Sanskrit Poetry Recitation Competition

“भारतस्य प्रतिष्ठे द्वे,संस्कृतं संस्कृतिः तथा”

Meaning: There are only two Factors of Indian’s prestige in the world, India’s culture and Sanskrit language.

Poetry is just the evidence of life and the students of form – VI, VII, VII, IX & X exhibited their oratory skills in the Sanskrit Poetry Recitation Competition held on the 02nd of December, 2024 at The Bhavsinhji Hall, The Rajkumar College, Rajkot. All the participants exhibited their poems with utmost clarity of words and intonations creating an aura of Sanskrit Sabha, their enthusiasm had no bounds.

The reciters were evaluated by Mr. Brajkumar Mishra, Dr.Chetan Joshi, and Mr. Gautam Joshi. The participants were judged based on the criteria such as pronunciation, expression, clarity, intonation, and overall presentation. They were mentored by Mr. Vipul Dave.

Interact Members’ Visit to Khakhana Village

Date: 26th November 2024

The Interact Club of Rajkumar College, accompanied by Polish delegates, visited the adopted Khakhana Village on 26th November 2024. The visit included several impactful activities to engage with the community and support the students’ development.

Key Highlights:

  1. Book and Stationery Distribution:
    Educational books from the Rotary Club and stationery kits were distributed to village students, supporting their academic growth.
  2. Science Experiments:
    Hands-on science experiments were conducted to spark curiosity and enhance practical learning among the students of Khakhana Village.
  3. Creative and Sporting Activities:
    A drawing session encouraged artistic expression, while a friendly Kho Kho match fostered teamwork and interaction between participants.

Conclusion:

The visit strengthened ties with the Khankhana community, encouraged cultural exchange with Polish delegates, and left a positive impact on the village children through education and engagement.

ANO CONCLAVE

The ANO Conclave was held on November 24, 2024, at Bhavsinhji Hall, The Rajkumar College, Rajkot, under the aegis of the Rajkot Group. The event brought together Armed Forces Officers, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), PI Staff, Office Staff, Principals, and 60 cadets from The Rajkumar College, Rajkot.

Highlights:

  • Group Commander Brig. K. Logan, NCC Group Headquarters, Rajkot, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of NCC activities in instilling discipline and leadership among cadets.
  • F/O Sandeep Deshmukh, a keynote speaker, along with S/O Bharatsinh Barad, T/O Nilofer Khokhar, and T/O Chandrika Dalsaniya, represented the host institution.
  • The conclave facilitated strategic discussions aimed at enhancing NCC initiatives and ensuring an impactful framework for future activities in the region.

The event successfully reinforced NCC’s mission to develop disciplined and dynamic leaders for the nation.

 

 

 

NCC Cycle Rally

On 23rd November, the Rajkot Group Headquarter organized a Cycle Rally to promote physical fitness and celebrate NCC Day. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 80 cadets from various units. First Officer Sandeep Deshmukh represented Rajkumar College, Rajkot, in the rally.

The rally was flagged off by Brigadier K. Loganathan, Group Commander of Rajkot Group, at the Race Course. The cycling route spanned from the Race Course to the NCC Group Headquarters. The event aimed to emphasize the importance of physical well-being and foster the spirit of the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

The rally concluded successfully, leaving participants motivated and aligned with the goals of fitness and camaraderie.

 

 

Workshop at St. Mary’s Public School, Rajkot

Mrs. Sona Karia and Mr. Shivam Gandha participated in a workshop at Saint Mary’s Public School, Rajkot, on 23rd November 2024.  The workshop aimed at aggrandizing the process of teaching and learning by employing novel ways aimed at better understanding of concepts. The workshop was addressed by Mr. Rajeevan Karal, a senior and highly accomplished English Language Teaching (ELT) professional and teacher trainer with over 45 years of experience in the field. Some of the key areas that he is very passionate about are teacher training, content development, and self-directed learning. During the session, he encouraged the educators to employ methods based on mass participation, such as activities and games that would encourage all children to become active learners in the classroom. He mainly put emphasis on experiential learning as prescribed in NPE 2020. The workshop reminded the educators of John Dewey, a pragmatic philosopher and educational theorist who defined education as “the continuous reconstruction of experiences.” The workshop provided a noteworthy exposure to both faculties.

 

 

Gujarati Poetry Recitation Competition

“The crown of literature is poetry”

Poetry is just evidence of life, and the students of form – IV exhibited their oratory skills in the Gujarati Poetry Recitation Competition held on 21 November 2024 at The Bhavsinhji Hall, The Rajkumar College, Rajkot. All the participants exhibited their prowess and eloquence with great enthusiasm. The reciters were evaluated by in-house Judges  Mrs.Vandna Kotak , Ms.Kushalataba and Ms.Mira Paun. The participants were judged based on criteria such as pronunciation, expression, clarity, intonation, and overall presentation. They were mentored by Mr.Prashant Teraiya, Mrs.Parul Barad and Mrs.Harita Dave.

Book Fair Report 18th – 21st November 2024

Our school successfully hosted a four-day book fair from 18th to 21st November 2024. The event, organized in collaboration with M/S Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd., Gurugram, showcased a diverse range of books catering to various age groups and subjects.

The book fair was inaugurated by our Principal, Mr. Yash Saxena, and our Vice-Principal, Ms. Keyuri Gohil, also graced the occasion with their presence.

The event attracted a large number of students, parents, and staff members, who enthusiastically browsed through the vast collection of books. To make the event more engaging, several competitions and activities were organized, including:

– Visual Storytelling

– Book Talk

– Book Mark Competition

– Book Cover Design

Students participated in these events with great zeal, showcasing their creativity and talent. Overall, the book fair was a resounding success, promoting a love for reading and learning among our students.

RKC Shines at “Cosmic Carnival” Workshop

A dynamic team comprising Master Megh Joshi and Master Mann Patel, led by their escort teacher Mr. Manish Raimangia, represented RKC at the “Cosmic Carnival” workshop. Organized by All Saints’ College, Nainital, under the aegis of the Boarding School Association of India (BSAI), the event celebrated the school’s 155-year legacy as a prestigious heritage institution perched atop the scenic heights of Nainital.

The workshop featured an enlightening keynote address by Mr. Mohit Joshi, an eminent engineer at the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Science (ARIES), fondly known as the “Telescope Man of India.” His inspiring speech energized participants and set the stage for a series of thrilling activities.

Hosted by the astronomy organization Astro Pathshala, the workshop offered four engaging events:

  1. Akashyan Spardha
  2. Aim Through Telescope
  3. Virtual Velocity Car
  4. Robo Kabaddi

Each activity was judged with precision, with teams earning points for their performances. The RKC team actively engaged in every event and proudly clinched the 2nd Runner-Up Trophy during the closing ceremony.

A memorable highlight of the workshop was a breathtaking night-time stargazing session. Students marveled at the celestial wonders through telescopes, observing various terrestrial and astronomical phenomena. The hands-on experience provided valuable insights into astronomy, leaving participants deeply inspired by the mysteries of the universe.

RKC’s impressive achievement at this prestigious event exemplifies their dedication to learning and exploration, inspiring others to reach for the stars!

 

NCC Day Celebration – 13th November 2024

On 13th November 2024, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day was commemorated with great enthusiasm at The Rajkumar College, Rajkot. The event was marked by a series of informative and engaging lectures delivered by the Associate NCC Officer (ANO) and Senior Cadets, highlighting the importance of  NCC in developing leadership, discipline, and service-mindedness among youth.

Key Highlights of the Day:

  1. Lecture by the ANO

The ANO delivered an inspiring lecture on the significance of  NCC and its role in nation-building. Emphasizing the core values of unity, self-discipline, and patriotism, the ANO encouraged cadets to embrace their responsibilities and make positive contributions to society. The talk also shed light on the opportunities available within NCC, including camps, adventure activities, and career prospects in the armed forces.

  1. Sessions by Senior Cadets

Following the ANO’s address, senior cadets presented a series of sessions covering various aspects of NCC training and experiences:

Leadership and Discipline: Senior Cadet shared their journey within NCC, highlighting the leadership skills, physical fitness, and discipline that have been integral to their development.

NCC Training Modules and Benefits: Another session focused on the diverse training modules offered by  NCC, ranging from drills and physical training to community service. Senior cadet elaborated on how these modules build character and resilience.

Community Service Initiatives: The senior cadets also discussed their involvement in social service initiatives such as blood donation camps, tree plantation drives, and disaster relief operations, illustrating the commitment of NCC members to community welfare.

Conclusion:

The NCC Day celebration concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which cadets engaged in meaningful dialogue with the ANO and senior members, deepening their understanding of the NCC’s mission and activities. The event served as a reminder of the values inculcated through NCC training and left the cadets motivated to carry forward its legacy.
