Form 3 Storytelling Competition

Form 3 Storytelling Competition was a delightful event that captivated both the audience and participants. The young storytellers took to the stage with a mix of excitement and nerves, ready to share their imaginative tales. Students not only narrated their tales but brought them to life with costumes, the clever use of props, flash cards and engaging voice modulation, making the event an unforgettable experience. The judges for the event were Mrs. Ami Kamdar, Mrs. Neena Bilkha and Mrs. Jigna Bhindora. The winners for the competition were:

2nd position Maanvi Mehta and Hridhaan Dodiya

3rd position Preet Lakhani and Krisha Parsana

 

“Threads of Honor: Rakhis Uniting Hearts and Heroes”

On July 29, 2024, the Girls Section of The Rajkumar College, Rajkot, organized a Rakhi Making Competition with the aim of creating rakhis for Indian Army soldiers. This event sought to instill a sense of patriotism and gratitude among the students.

The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students of various grades who were tasked with creating rakhis incorporating patriotic themes along with traditional designs. Judging criteria included creativity, craftsmanship, and thematic relevance.

The event was highly successful, resulting in  more than  1000 high-quality rakhis  that showcased the students’ artistic skills and national pride. These handcrafted rakhis were sent to army units nationwide, accompanied by personal messages from the students.

This competition effectively combined cultural tradition with civic duty, providing an opportunity for students to appreciate the armed forces and develop their creative abilities. It served as a meaningful way to connect students with the broader national community and instill gratitude towards those serving in the military.

Clay Modelling Competition

We introduced a Clay Modelling competition for the very first time at our school, The Rajkumar College, Rajkot. The students were very enthusiastic and eager to showcase their skills in this new artistic field. On the day of the competition, all participants exceeded expectations with their clay modelling abilities and thoroughly enjoyed creating ‘Ganesha’ sculptures. The quality of work was so impressive that the judges found it challenging to determine the rankings, as all entries demonstrated exceptional skill and creativity.

 

HEALTHCAMP

At The Rajkumar College, Rajkot, we firmly believe that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Recognizing that our faculty members are our greatest assets, we prioritize their health and well-being. In line with this belief, we recently organized a comprehensive health checkup camp on our campus in collaboration with Milestone Medicos and HDFC Bank’s Rajkot Main Branch as our supporting partners.

During this camp, our teachers underwent Lipid Profile Tests, Blood Pressure checks, Sugar tests, and Audiometric Tests. Notably, we are the first institution to introduce Audiometric testing in the schooling system. We are pleased to report that the health reports of 178 faculty members were satisfactory.

The entire event was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Mitesh Popat and Director of Academics Dr. Subhesh Upadhyay. The success of this camp is largely attributed to the dedicated efforts of our Vice Principal, Ms. Keyuri Gohil, and our visionary Principal, Mr. Yash Saxena.

 

 

NCC ANNUAL TRAINING CAMP AT JAMKANDORNA: (ARMY WING)

From July 22 to July 31, 2024, the NCC Annual Training Camp was held at Jamkandorna. It brought together 455 cadets from 27 schools across Rajkot District. First Officer Sandeep Deshmukh led 17 cadets from Rajkumar College, who performed exceptionally well.

The camp aimed to teach the cadets discipline, teamwork, and leadership through various competitions. Rajkumar College stood out by winning many trophies and medals.

Rajkumar College’s cadets showed great skill, especially in the Drill and Cricket competitions, winning many top prizes. Their success is a result of their hard work and excellent training. These young cadets have learned important lessons about discipline, teamwork, and leadership, and they have made their school proud.

 

Form 2 Show and Tell Competition 2024-25

A Show and Tell Competition was organised for Form 2 students of our College at Bhavsinhji Hall on 25th July 2024. There were 15 finalists shortlisted from all the sections. Children described and spoke a few lines on the object / topic of their choice with full zeal and enthusiasm. Mrs Ami kamdar, Mrs Neena Bilkha and Mrs Jigna Bhindora were there as esteemed judges for the competition. As per the judges, 1st rank was awarded to Vritika Doshi, Tark Kachhi and Prishita Singh jointly. The 2nd and 3rd positions were shared by Riyan Janani and Dhairya Rochwani.

NURTURE YOUR HEALTH …. THE ONLY WAY TO NURTURE YOUR LIFE

A Menstrual Hygiene and overall, Health workshop was held on 24th July, 2024 for the students of Form- 5, 6 and 7 (Girls) in the Girls Multimedia during the last two periods.

Dr. Neeta Thakkar (MD DGO FICMCH Sonologist), a leading expert in women’s health was the guest speaker for the event. Mrs. Thakkar has been practicing obstetrics and gynaecology for more than 40 years.

This workshop helped the students to understand the process of menstrual cycle and its importance. It focused on the changes happening in a female body during this important stage and the food habits to be cultivated during this time. Neeta Madam also helped children understand the various hygiene practices to be taken care of at this stage.

This workshop ended with a small questionnaire round, where the inquisitive girls came up with the doubts and the myths they had.

 

The Access USA

The Access USA Society of The Rajkumar College, Rajkot, recently conducted an orientation and introduction seminar for students of classes 9 to 12. Over 400 students attended, gaining valuable insights about the Diploma of Access USA and participating in a seminar on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The seminar was divided into four stages, with active members Devki Patel, Avani Goel, and Charmi Sagathiya guiding the students through each stage. Dr. Mitesh Popat handled the conclusion and Q&A session. The success of this program is attributed to our visionary Principal Mr. Yash Saxena.

The DELHI WORLD PUBLIC SCHOOL MUN, RAJKOT – DWPS-MUN-2024

A team of 20 young, amateur MUNers accompanied by an escort teacher participated in the I.I.M.U.N Rajkot Conference 2024 from the 19th to 21st July, 2024 at The Delhi Public School.

This conference helped the participants to start taking initiative in combating global problems at an individual level.

FIRE SAFETY MOCK DRILL – BOYS

Date:19th July 2024

Location: The Quadrangle, The Rajkumar College, Rajkot

The Interact Club board members of The Rajkumar College, Rajkot, organized a fire safety mock drill to enhance the safety and readiness of students and staff. The primary objectives were to educate on fire safety protocols, demonstrate the use of fire extinguishers and water hoses, and ensure everyone is prepared for fire emergencies.

 

Key Activities:

 

  1. Evacuation Procedure:

– A simulated fire emergency was triggered with an alarm.

– Participants practiced calmly and efficiently evacuating to the assembly area.

 

  1. Dos and Don’ts During a Fire:

– An interactive session outlined important actions to take during a fire, such as:

– Staying calm.

– Covering the nose and mouth with a cloth.

– Avoiding opening hot doors or re-entering the building.

 

  1. Fire Extinguisher Demonstration:

– Different types of fire extinguishers were explained.

– A step-by-step guide (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep) was demonstrated.

– Selected participants practiced using the fire extinguishers.

 

  1. Use of Water Hoses:

– The water supply system and fire hoses were explained.

– A demonstration on connecting and operating water hoses was conducted, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and coordination.

 

The mock drill was a great success, significantly boosting fire safety awareness and preparedness among the students and staff of the boys’ school.
