FIRE SAFETY MOCK DRILL – GIRLS

15th July 2024 – The board members of Interact club of The Rajkumar College, Rajkot conducted a fire safety mock drill in the Girls’ Assembly Area, aiming to enhance the safety and preparedness of students and staff.

The drill focused on educating participants about fire safety protocols, demonstrating the use of fire extinguishers and water pipes, and ensuring the community’s readiness to handle fire emergencies effectively.

The drill comprised several key activities:

  1. Evacuation Procedure: A simulated fire emergency with an alarm was conducted, followed by a practice evacuation to the assembly area, emphasizing calm and efficient movement.
  2. Dos and Don’ts During Fire: An interactive session highlighted essential actions, such as staying calm, using stairs, covering the nose and mouth with a cloth, and avoiding opening hot doors or re-entering the building.
  3. Demonstration of Fire Extinguishers: Participants received a detailed explanation of different fire extinguisher types, a step-by-step usage guide (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep), and hands-on practice for selected individuals.
  4. Use of Water Pipes: The water supply system and fire hoses were explained, followed by a demonstration of connecting and operating water pipes, stressing the importance of coordination and teamwork.

 

The mock drill was a resounding success, significantly contributing to the fire safety awareness and preparedness of the Girls’ School community.

 

Form 1 Show and Tell Competition 2024-25

Show and Tell Competition was organised for Form 1 students on the 20th of July, 2024. It was a wonderful introduction to public speaking and helped improve their descriptive and communicative skills. The children participated with great enthusiasm.

“Youth Helping Youth: MYRA Club’s Community Outreach for Educational Equity

On July 16, 2024, the MYRA  club at Rajkumar College successfully organized a donation drive aimed at supporting underprivileged children. The drive gathered essential educational materials, including notebooks, stationery, clothes, and textbooks, which were later donated to the Manav Dharm Seva Sanstha, a local non-governmental organisation (NGO) run by Mr Vijay Gandhi and his team

The primary objective of this initiative was to raise awareness among students about the challenges faced by underprivileged members of society. By encouraging students to contribute essential educational materials and clothing, the MYRA club intended to instil a sense of social responsibility and empathy among the student body.

The donation drive received significant participation from all the students. Their enthusiasm and generosity were pivotal to the success of this charitable event. This initiative also contributed to raising awareness about social issues among the students of Rajkumar College. The success of this drive exemplifies the positive impact that young individuals can have on their community when they unite for a noble cause.

The MYRA club’s donation drive reflects a commendable effort that aligns with Rajkumar College’s dedication to social responsibility. Such initiatives play a pivotal role in shaping socially conscious individuals and nurturing a spirit of giving among students.

 

SOF Second Level AWARDS 2023-24

The following students have done the school and their parents proud by achieving top 3 International and top 25 ranks in our Gujarat Zone. These exams were meticulously conducted at Rkc by Science Olympiad Foundation.

International English Olympiad (IEO)

  1. Udbhas Bagchi of class 6 secured 1st position In zone and won the cash prize worth Rs. 5000/-, Zonal Gold Medal and the Certificate of excellence.

International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO)

  1. Moksh patel of class 4 secured 1st rank in zone and 2nd rank at International level and won International Silver Medal and a gift voucher worht Rs. 1000/- and a certificate of Outstanding performance.
  2. Diyan Shah of class 4 secured 2rd rank in zone and 4th Rank at international level and also won Zonal gold Medal and a cheque of 2500/- and a certificate of zonal excellence
  3. Khushi Karia of class 8 secured 1st rank in zone and 4th  International rank and won Zonal Gold Medal and a cheque of  1667/- and a certificate of zonal excellence
  4. Khushi Unadkat of class 9 secured 1strank in zone and 1st at international level and also won International Gold Medal and a gift voucher of Rs. 1000/- and a certificate of outstanding performance.
  5. Mann Patel of class 9 secured 1st rank in zone and 1st at international level and also won Zonal Gold Medal and a gift voucher of Rs. 1000/- and a certificate of outstanding performance.

National Cyber Olympiad (NCO)

  1. Diyan Shah of class 4 secured 3rd rank in zone and won Zonal Bronze Medal and a cheque of 333/- and a certificate of zonal excellence.
  2. Khushi Karia of class 8 secured 8th position in the zone and won a gift voucher worth Rs 500/- and certificate of zonal excellence
  3. Mann Patel of class 9 secured 5th position in the zone and won the gift voucher worth Rs 500/- and certificate of zonal excellence.

 

 

NCC Motivational Award Ceremony

The NCC Motivational Award Ceremony was held on 25th June 2024 at the Rajkot Group Headquarter. The event aimed to honor outstanding cadets and ANO’S from various NCC units.

From our school, Naman Dabhi from the Air Wing received the Best Cadet Award, and First Officer Bharatsinh Barad was honored with the Best ANO (Associate NCC Officer) of Air Wing award. Both awards were presented by Group Commander Brigadier S. Sanjay.

The ceremony celebrated the dedication and achievements of the awardees, highlighting their contributions to the NCC and their commitment to excellence.

 

Setting up ‘Heritage Clubs’ in School by INTACH Delhi

A teacher’s training workshop was conducted by the INTACH Heritage Club spanning over two days from 21st to 22nd June 2024 at the Mahatma Gandhi Museum by Ms. Purnima Dutt. This workshop aimed to educate participants on the conservation and preservation of our heritage. The teachers who attended the workshop were Ms. Anupam Aarti Sinha, Ms. Jagruti Jadeja, Ms. Rima Udani, and Mr. Hardeepsinh Jadeja.

The workshop commenced with a nature walk, allowing participants to observe local heritage sites and natural surroundings firsthand. The sessions were noted for their innovative approach and engaging content, keeping participants actively involved and interested throughout. Overall, the workshop provided valuable insights into heritage conservation and preservation through its well-planned sessions and interactive activities. Participants expressed satisfaction with the workshop’s content and delivery. Similar workshops be organized in the future to further promote heritage awareness.

 

The 7th Shrimant Madhav Rao Scindia ‘Dharohar’ Gujarat Heritage Fest at Gwalior

The 7th Shrimant Madhav Rao Scindia ‘Dharohar’ Gujarat Heritage Fest 2024 took place in Gwalior from 17th to 20th April 2024 in which 14 students from the Rajkumar College, Rajkot participated accompanied by two teachers namely Mrs. Madhavi Dave and Mrs. Purvi Sheth. The event showcased various aspects of Gujarati culture, including Gujarati Sugam Sangeet, Kutch Lippan Art, Rabari Bharat, Ajrakh Block Printing, Gujarati Folk Dance, Mata Ni Pachedi (Painting), Gujarati Cuisine, Duha-Chhand, Bhavai, Trifold Brochure, and Bandhej. A total of fifteen schools from all over India participated in the festival.

The Rajkumar College, Rajkot secured the 3rd position in Lippan art. The festival was well-organized with meticulous planning which was evident throughout. As the focus was on Gujarat’s heritage, our students thoroughly enjoyed all the events. During the Principal’s Dinner, a lively Gujarati Garba Ras event was performed after which a talented singer entertained the audience, followed by a delicious Gujarati dinner served in traditional Patravda. Overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable experience for all who attended.

BSAI- Student Leadership workshop, May 2024 at Doon School, Dehradun

On Saturday, 4th of May, four senior prefects of Form 12 namely Heer Vaishnav, Soumyaa Chandarana, Aniket Kuhada, and Pril Khachariya accompanied by Teacher and Housemaster Mrs. Anju Singh embarked on a journey to inculcate more positive and productive narratives of Leadership which shifts the paradigm from Power, Privilege, and Punishment to Curiosity, Collaboration, and Compassion.  The workshop was organized at The Doon School, Dehradun by the Boarding School Association of India. The workshop which spanned over a period of two days covered a diverse array of topics crucial for effective leadership in today’s dynamic world. Students participated in group projects and team building activities that required them to delegate tasks, resolve conflicts, and inspire others towards a common goal. Students expressed newfound confidence in their leadership potential and commitment to applying their learning to various facets of their school and personal lives.

Overall, the Leadership workshop was a transformative and enriching experience for our students equipping them with invaluable skills and insights essential for Effective Leadership.

 

Mayo G-20 Summit

The G-20 Summit was organized by Mayo College in Ajmer from 19th to 21st February 2024. Students Divyangini Jhala, Bhagyalaxmi Jadeja, Khushi Undakat, Jay Kanabar, Mann Patel, and Dhyan Udeshi were accompanied by Dr Mitesh Popat to the summit, the theme of which was “One Earth – One Family – One Future”. Their active participation in this event earned them certificates of participation, marking a significant and novel experience for the students, as such an event had never been conducted before in the country.

Rajkumar College was given the opportunity to be a part of the esteemed Shri Ram Sobhayatra at Pushkar, making it an exceptional and memorable endeavour for the students.

Gujarat Patidar Business Summit 2024

A group comprising of 32 students accompanied by teachers Mr. Tribhuvan Sharma, Mr. Vivek Damodar, and Dr. Mitesh Popat participated in the Gujarat Patidar Business Summit 2024 on 9th January 2024. The summit, boasting of 1,100 stalls across diverse business sectors, witnessed an impressive turnout of nearly 200,000 visitors on a single day.

This educational expedition offered a firsthand experience and provided students with valuable insights into the intricacies of B2B processes. The event proved to be a significant educational exposure, thus enhancing the students’ understanding of various business domains.
