Lower Senior House – Cycling Trip

On the morning of 7th January 2024, a thrilling cycling expedition unfolded as a group of boarder boys of Form 9, residing in the Lower Senior Lodge, embarked on an adventurous journey on the Gondal-Kangasiyali Road. The expedition was organized with precision to details by Mr. Kunal Chaphekar to ensure a balance between excitement and safety, with the guidance of escort teachers namely Mr. Ragesh Goradiya, Mr. Sandeep Deshmukh, and Mr. Darshak Gohel.

Beyond it being a mere physical exercise, the cycling trip served as a holistic adventure, fostering both personal and collective growth among the students. With each turn of the cycle pedals, indelible memories were formed in the hearts of the boys, strengthening the bonds of friendship and instilling a profound sense of accomplishment by the end of this trip.

 

First Aid Seminar

A seminar was organized on 6th January 2024 at the Girls’ School Multimedia by Mr. Bipin from the Indian Red Cross Society, Rajkot for the Interact Club. Students of Form 11th and faculty members Mrs. Bhavna Sorathia, Ms. Jaydevi Rathod, and Mr. Sandeep Deshmukh attended the seminar. Various functions of the Red Cross Society were explained to the members of the Interact Club. The seminar focused on becoming junior members, dedicating a significant part to first-aid and principles such as humanity and impartiality. Practical demonstrations included inspecting scenes, checking responsiveness, and seeking permission for first-aid. The session emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of preparedness. The seminar successfully equipped students with life-saving skills and a commitment to Red Cross principles, contributing to resilient communities. It was a very useful and informative session and participants expressed gratitude and eagerness for future activities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Forms 2 and 3 GK Competition

An inter-house GK Quiz Competition was organized at the Boys School Multimedia for the pupils of Forms 2 and 3 respectively on 5th January 2024. It consisted of several rounds of mind-boggling questions that was presented to each house. All question rounds were keenly contested by the participants. It was heart-warming to see the children brimming with enthusiasm as they vied with each other to answer the questions. All the students enjoyed the quiz competition thoroughly and found it to be a very informative and knowledge-enriching experience.

In both the forms Halar House participants secured the first position.

 

 

 

 

 

Poster Making Competition by Bureau of Indian Standard

On Friday, 5th January 2024, Bureau of Indian Standard Club of The Rajkumar College, Rajkot organized a Poster Making Competition on the occasion of BIS Founder’s Day for Form 11 students with the support of Bureau of Indian Standard, Rajkot branch under the supervision of mentors Mr Manish Raimagiya and Ms Jaydevi Rathod.

Theme of the competition was “Hallmarking and Uses of BIS Care App”. Pratvi Pambhar won 1st prize, Pankti Gajera won 2nd prize, Vibhutiba Rana won 3rd prize and Heer Vaishnav stood for the 4th position.

Interact Club’s visit to Ramnagar

On Wednesday, 3rd January 2024, 27 student members of Interact Club from Form 11, accompanied by teachers Mrs. Bhavna Sorathia, Mrs. Usha Vasani and Mrs. Ami Kamdar visited the construction site at Ramnagar, Kankot. The objective of the visit was the distribution of blankets to the workers at the site. Nearly 80 blankets were distributed along with other used clothes. Wafer packets as well as beverages were also distributed to the children of the workers.

Such social service activities foster a sense of social responsibility amongst the students. They help in igniting a genuine desire to contribute and support others in meaningful ways.

The students accompanied by the teachers visited the site at 2.30 pm in the school bus and returned to the school premises at around 5 pm. It was an enriching experience for the student members of the Interact Club.

Form 7 Experiential Learning – Social Science

FEMINISM ISN’T ABOUT MAKING WOMEN STRONGER. WOMEN ARE ALREADY STRONG, IT’S ABOUT CHANGING THE WAY THE WORLD PERCEIVES THAT STRENGTH.

Form 7 boys under the guidance of Mrs Usha Vasani performed a street play as part of experiential learning based on the  Civics chapter “Women Change the World” .The boys spoke about the taboos and stereotypes associated with women and presented a positive approach towards resolving them. Being the future of our society, it was truly a learning and eye opening experience for the students.

Form 6 Experiential Learning – Social Science

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn”

 

As part of “Experiential Learning” of Civics Chapter 7 “Urban Administration” , Mrs Ruchitaben Nilesh Bhai Joshi, ward councillor of ward no 16, Rajkot, was invited to share her valuable insights on the 21st December 2023, regarding the working of Rajkot Municipal Corporation. All students of Form 6 gathered in the Bhavsinhji Hall for the event.

 

After her detailed explanation, she shared some real life complaints and queries by the residents of her ward, followed by a fruitful Q & A session. She played an instrumental role in helping children understand the working of the Municipal Corporation.

Hindi Elocution Competition for Forms IX and X

The Hindi Elocution Competition for Forms IX and X was held on 12th December 2023 at Bhavsinhji Hall in the Rajkumar College under the guidance of mentor teachers. A total of 16 students participated in the competition. The judges for the event were Mr. Nikhil Sharma, Mr. Braj Kishor Mishra, and Miss Mamta Chauhan.

The winners were as following:

First Position – Anika Upadhyay (Gohilwar House)

Second Position – Jhanvi Mehta (Gohilwar House)

Third Position – Vrunda Radadiya (Gohilwar House)

 

Intermediate House Cycling Trip

We are delighted to inform you that on the 1st of January, 2024, our Intermediate House 16 boys embarked on an exciting cycling trip to Kangasyali. This trip was organized to kick start the new year on a positive note and provide our students with an opportunity to explore nature while fostering camaraderie among themselves.

The boys were accompanied by a dedicated team of experienced staff members, including Mr. Mukesh Patil, Dr. Amit Dave, Mr. Ujjwal Sharma, and Mr. Jilesh Vishrolia. Their presence ensured that the safety and well-being of our students remained paramount throughout the trip.

Our students had an incredible Sunday filled with adventure and discovery as they immersed themselves in the beauty of Kangasyali’s natural surroundings. The trip not only allowed them to appreciate nature but also provided them with an opportunity to build strong bonds with their fellow classmates outside of the classroom environment.

We are proud of our students for displaying exemplary behavior and enthusiasm during this excursion. Such experiences not only contribute towards their personal growth but also enhance their understanding of the world around them.

“On the 20th of December 2023, an inspiring motivational film titled ‘Ghoomer,’ featuring Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher, was screened for NCC cadets from the 8th and 9th grades at the Bhavsinhji Hall. The film aimed to instill motivation and resilience among the young cadets, encouraging them to embrace challenges and persevere in their endeavors.”
